The following includes various tips that apply when playing craps
that can help you in this adventure. In this section you will get a
better comprehension of how to play the game. Much of what you will
read is similar to the rules but it will give you greater understanding.
Brief Overview
The first thing is to check out who the shooter is. This is the person
who rolls the dice. What you are doing is placing bets either with
or against the shooter. You do this by either betting on the ‘Pass
Line’ and/or the ‘Don’t pass Line’. After the bets are made the shooter
rolls the dice. You win or lose depending on the roll. When you want
to bet for or with the shooter you put your bet on the ‘Pass Line’,
thus making a pass line bet. If a seven or an eleven comes out on the
first roll both you and the shooter are winners. On the other hand,
if a 2, a 3 or a 12 is rolled, unless you had bet against the shooter
by placing your bet on the ‘Don’t Pass Line’, you lose. If you had
placed your bet on the don't pass line you would be a winner. If neither
of these things occur, then if a, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10 or an 11 is rolled,
the game proceeds to the ‘point’ mode. In this situation the shooter
has to now roll this point number again before rolling a 7, or he/she
loses.
Pass and Don’t Pass Lines
You place your bet on the ‘Pass’ line when you want to bet with the
shooter. For you to win, the shooter has to roll either 7 or 11. If
on the other hand, the shooter rolls a 2, a 3 or a 12, you will have
lost and it would have been better for you to have placed your bet
on the ‘Don’t Pass’ line, and to have bet against the shooter.
Come and Don’t Come
When the ‘on’ puck has been placed on the craps table, it is too
late to place a ‘Pass’ or ‘Don’t Pass’ Line bet. The opening roll has
already been executed and if you come up to the table at this stage,
you will have missed it. The game is now in the ‘Point’ stage of play.
At this stage of the game you can still play by placing a bet on ‘Come’
or ‘Don’t Come’. As before so in this case, you are either betting
with or against the bettor. When you bet a come bet you are betting
that the shooter will make his or her point, and if you bet a don't
come bet you are betting the he or she will not make his/her point.
In this case you just bet and then hop either that the shooter makes
his/her point or does not.
Big Six or Eight
Just as it is stated, you are betting that a 6 or 8 will be rolled
before a 7 is rolled.
Seven Bet
If you are feeling lucky you can try this one. If you can't take
the risk this is not for you. Remember when you make this bet it only
applies to the next roll. If that roll wasn't successful you have lost
your chance.
Craps Bets
This is another case where you have only one roll of the dice in
which to win. You are betting that a 2, 3, or a 12 will be thrown on
the next throw.
Hard Way Bets
If you are seeking a higher payout, the ‘hard way’ bets may be the
way for you to go. Bear in mind that if the payout is higher than you
can be sure that the odds of your winning are lower. To win using a
‘hard way’ bet you need to put your bet on a double 5’s or double 6’s.
when you bet on a double 5’s it needs to be hit before a soft 10 comes
up or any combination that equals 10 that is not a double 5’s. At the
same time, if a 7 comes up before the double 5’s you also lose.
Craps Tips and Hints
If you are new at the game and just want to have fun then just bet
on the ‘Come’ line bet, ‘Don’t Come’ line bet, ‘Pass’ line bet and
‘Don’t Pass’ bet. The odds of your winning at these bets is about 50%.
One way of winning big is to make ‘hard way’ bets. If you do so, you need to
remember that your odds of winning are very much reduced on these types of
bets. If you really want to have fun, go play with a group of friends, relax
and enjoy yourself.
