Four Basic Beginner Tips:
1. You should start by establishing a bankroll of from 20 to 50 units
– of preferably $5 each. Remember that Baccarat is usually played for
high limits. Therefore you may have to risk 20 units of up $25 each
or $500.
2. When you enter the game, get a score card and make a chart of
each decision using standard notations of P for players and B for bank.
3. For the first 20 to 30 hands of the shoe, bet single unts or $25
a hand.
4. Be careful to watch how the game is played out during your first
20 to 30 hands. Try to find obvious trends in the game. Look to self-esteem
for example, if the shoe is "choppy", with the player and
banker switching back and forth many hands in succession. Are there
short-term streaks like P, P, P, B, P, B, B, B ? Or maybe there’s another
choppy turned.
More Advance Baccarat Tips:
Counting cards, which was so important when playing blackjack has
been attracting attention among Baccarat players as a possible method
for winning at Baccarat as well. Here's how this works:.
Just like in blackjack, in Baccarat the removal of cards from play
creates situations where there is a change in the chances of attaining
particular cards or combinations of cards. In some cases the rmvl of
certain cards favors the Player and at other times the Banker.
When you have a good count strategy you can recognize situations
that favor betting for the Banker and others where betting for the
Player is the better bet. Through the method of judiciously alternating
bets along with the count, one who counts cards may improve his/her
chances and win money at the game of baccarat.
It is basically plvd that in theory the lower cards favor the Player
while the high cards favor the Banker. There are other cards that have
only a minor effect and are considered as being neutral. Those who
count will track the removal of such cards, and will bet for the Player
when there is a higher ratio of high cards remaining in the deck.
1. Trends are a factor that Baccarat players will seek out. He rollers
look for these trends and consider whether they will continue or reverse
direction. In the event that the last 30 odd hands were unpredictable,
the gambler begins to bet to allow a streak to take place. To do this
he will continue betting according to whatever the last hand was. If
the Player won, he will bet for the Player, if it was the Banker then
he will bet for the Banker. In anticipation of a favorable streak he
might start to raise his bet. On the other hand, if the gambler notices
that the shoe was streaky during the first 30 hands, he might decide
that these streaks will reverse and will bet accordingly. When you
notice a turned, you need to determine which way it is going. Should
you bet with or against it? Bear in mind that this is gambling and
therefore there is no way to know for certain which direction things
will go.
2. If you're in a streaky shoe, with both P and B participating on
short-term streaks, play these streaks to continue with a paroli of
three. This simply means parley your bet twice, going for a win of
three hands in succession. You bet $25 and win. Let it ride and bet
$50. If it wins, let it ride once more and bet the $100. On any loss
or after winning the three hands in a row, revert to a one-unit bet.
To start you paroli of three, you could either bet whichever won on
the last hand (if P wins, start with P), or go the other way (if P
wins, start with B). Just be consistent.
3. If the shoe you are playing in is choppy, you should bet that
the winner of the last hand will not win three hands in a row. If the
last hand was won by P then you should bet $25 on B. if in fact P wins
again and you lose, then you should bet $50 on B. If now P were to
again win, in should go all out and bet $100 on B. If you succeed in
winning any of these three hands you will have won $25. If you lose
all three of the hands, then your lose is $175. This would be a good
time to sit hour a few hands or wait for a new shoe.
4. There are those players who see the consecutive occurrence of
P wing, say offer 30 hands, and then again another 20, things at that
time will even out as Be becomes dominant during the next 30 hands.
(It should be noted that a shoe contains about 60 hands). If this is
an approach that you would like to try then you should take a conservative
approach and flat-bet the second half of the shoe on the side that
is now due to come up to even things out.
Winning With Card Counting:
The technique of counting cards, one that has been so successful
when it communities to winning at blackjack, has recently become popular
with the game of Baccarat and has been undergoing much study. It works
in the following way.
Just as in the game of blackjack, so in Baccarat, removing cards
from play will create a situation where there is a change in the chances
of particular cards or combinations of cards coming up. When some types
of cards are removed it favors the Player and the removal of others
will favor the Banker.
When you are able to use a good card count strategy you are able
to note situations that are favorable to the Banker, as well as those
that are favorable to the Player. You may discern situations in which
you should bet for the Banker and others where you should bet for the
Player. By carefully alternating your bets as the count changes one
who counts cards may improve his/her chances at winning when playing
Baccarat.
The theory is very basic. Simply put, the presence of low cards will
favor the Player while high cards favor the position of the Banker.
There are particular cards that will have little effect. They therefore
are considered as being neutral. Those who count cards will keep track
of these cards being removed. They will bet the Player position when
there is a lower ratio and the Banker position when there is a higher
ratio of high cards remaining in the deck.
Traditional Betting Strategies:
The game of Baccarat requires very little decision making. Therefore
winning strategies have usually been limited to betting systems and
techniques for managing your money. Such strategies are based on the
discernment of winning streaks. Looking for trends of wins and losses.
One bets with the position that seems to be winning and one adjusts
his/her bet in accordance with whether or not the last hand won or
whether it lost. There are several approaches of interest available
for those players who enjoy working with betting systems. Keep in mind
that such systems do not change the odds of the game that they may
be trying to defeat.
The House Advantage:
Although the Baccarat player is constantly hoping for a streak to
guide him or her, they are not predictable. There is, as far as I know,
no way that they can be predicted. It is not possible, as far as I
know, to get a statistically verifiable advantage in this game. It’s
for sure that the game has streaks of luck and you might be able to
find one and ride it, but such streaks can not be predicted in any
way. Not for the Player or for the Banker.
Nevertheless the strategy employed by most Baccarat players is to
try to discern these streaks or trends whether they are for the Player
or the Banker, and to ride along with them. they are betting whether
or not these streaks will continue or not. Or that they may reverse.
If he is able. A high roller who capitalizes on such streaks and trends
can win as much as $5 million in a single session. It is more likely
for him to lose that much. Or even more. In one session a reported
loss came to $20,000,000.
Here is how the house edge works. An advantage that will eventually
affect even the most careful Baccarat player.:
The houses edge on a Banker Hand winning is 1.06%
The house’s edge on a Player Hand winning is 1.23%
The advantage to the house on a Tie hand is 14.05%
Baccarat Variations:
The original term is Italian coming from the Italian game of Baccarat
and meaning zero. This refers to the value of all 10-count cards. From
this has come European Baccarat, including Baccarat in the form of
en Banque, and Chemin de Fer, all of which descend from the Italian
game.
1. European Bacarrat
In European Baccarat, the player is allowed to stand or to draw on 5, as he
chooses. The play of the dealer, who permanently operates the bank in European
casinos, is totally optional. Regardless of this, the banker’s decisions
are almost in all cases, exactly the same, conforming identically with the
rules of play for American Baccarat. A perfect conformance to these options
does not improve the fixed percentage that the house enjoys by more than
0.5 percent. Players who bet along with the Bank to win must pay 5 percent
of their winnings to the house for each bet.
2. Baccarat en Banque
The game Baccarat en Banque is very similar to Baccarat except that there is
one hand for the Bank and two Player hands. Sometimes the casinos will lease
the bank in the form of a concession to a syndicate. The syndicate then shares
with the casino, 50 percent of the monthly winnings. If there is a loss the
syndicate must take the entire loss. In this game players may bet on either
of the two player hands, or on both of them, but never on the banker’s hand.
The banker is an employee of the casino. He is allowed to stand or to draw
as he decides. He usually plays in accordance with the fixed American Baccarat
rules but he can modify his play if it will improve his chances of betting
the player’s hand with the largest amount of money to bet on.
3. Chemin de Fer
Chemin de Fer is French for railroad, referring to the shoe that is moved around
the table much like a train. . Here the basic difference is that the bank is
passed from player to player. Here the house acts as the broker. It collects
a sum from each banker’s winnings and assumes no risks. The player who acts as
the banker cannot draw down any part of his/her winnings unless the players do
not subscribe to all of the bank. At the conclusion of any hand however, the
banker may choose to pass the bank and then draw down his/her winnings. The player
is allowed to stand or to draw on 5. In this game, the player also has choice
of standing or drawing on 5. the banker’s play is completely discretionary, or
optional. In any of these European games, an experienced American player would
be able to play well after observing how the game is played, by simply using
American Baccarat rules.
